The Zodiac and the Gospel - Chapter 5 Capricorn

✩✩CAPRICORN (THE SEA GOAT)✩✩

Corresponds with the tribe of Nephtali
Hebrew - ge DEE - meaning young goat (kid) cut off

The Latin, capricornus, means goat. This constellation depicts a goat bowing its head with hits right leg folded beneath its body as if its dying and unable to rise. A goat in the Bible was an atoning sacrifice. This goat has the tail of a fish. Fish symbolizes the people for whom the atonement is made. The goat sacrifices His life for the fish, and the fish are full of vigor and life.

Then he must take the two male goats and present them to the LORD at the entrance of the Tabernacle. He is to cast sacred lots to determine which goat will be reserved as an offering to the LORD and which will carry the sins of the people to the wilderness of Azazel. Aaron will then present as a sin offering the goat chosen by lot for the Lord. The other goat, the scapegoat chosen by lot to be sent away, will be kept alive, standing before the LORD. When it is sent away to Azazel in the wilderness, the people will be purified and made right with the LORD, Leviticus 16:7-10

Here are some additional verses on the goats being offered as animal sacrifices: Leviticus 9:3, 10:16, and 16:9-10.

In these verses the first goat is for atonement and covering, while the second goat is the scapegoat. the scapegoat was released into the wilderness. It is symbolic of sins of people disappearing from sight. This goat was offered each year at Yom Kippur.

Isaiah 53:5 explains how Jesus became our sacrifice; how He was immersed in the waters of death and came alive in the Resurrection.

The tail of the fish has life and blessing. This can be closely linked to the miracle Jesus performed in multiplying the loaves and fishes as well, John 6:1-14.
